If you have reached a point where your daily stressors are getting to be a bit too much and think you could benefit from some quiet, peace, and meditation, Shambhala Mountain Center is waiting. Located 2 hours from Denver, this 600-acre valley at Red Feathers Lakes, high in the Colorado Rockies, is the perfect spot to relax, rejuvenate, and renew your spirit. Bill Bailey Travel Reviews this great destination for travel and relaxation.
The Center is a haven of forests and meadows that provides a safe and supportive community to address personal stressors, awaken your inner being and transform your spirit and your mind. Through the more than 100 programs offered annually the modern retreat offers a place for you to connect with others who share your desire to find a balanced center. Mediation is held at several times during the day, offering guests the opportunity to find and maintain a peaceful space during their visit.
With over 100 retreats, weekends, and group rentals each year the Center relies on workshops leaders who are well-known and respected in their field. Teachers offer programs designed for both beginners and advanced students. Programs cover a variety of topics including: healing workshops, retreats, writing workshops, visual art retreats, healing through art and music, couples and family retreats, and ways to develop healthy communication in key relationships. Workshops vary in length depending on the goals of the guest.
If you are in the area and are interested in a day visit, the first Sunday of each month the Center hosts an open house where guests can receive meditation instruction, take tours of the grounds, or just relax and enjoy the peaceful environment.
There are a variety of housing options available in order to accommodate each guest’s budget and desire for fellowship with other guests. Rates vary depending on the type of accommodation desired as-well-as the length of stay. Due to the location of the Center their website lists suggested gear for guests to bring with them during different times of the year. Layers of clothing are suggested during visits as weather conditions in the area can vary greatly depending on the time of year.
